The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
We decided to see this movie on a whim and caught the late show. I did not know much about the movie except that it was about a guy who aged backwards. I did not know that it was almost 3 hours long. I probably would not have seen it when I did if I had known this. However, I must say, that it did not seem so long as I was watching it.
I enjoyed how they brought the story together from two differing time line perspectives. One where Cate Blanchett’s character is dying and is sharing the story with her daughter. The other from the perspective of Brad Pitt’s character Benjamin Button.
Overall, the story was better than I expected. It was refreshing, moving, and very enjoyable.
Macbook Pro (early 2008) – Hard Drive install
When I first received my Macbook Pro 17″, I knew that it’s hard drive would be inadequate for my needs. So I decided to put a 500 Gb hard drive in it.
This video shows how I put a Hitatchi 5K500 in my 2008 Macbook Pro 17″. For information on the drive I used, you can go to it’s product page by clicking HERE.
These drives can be purchased from various online retail outlets.
I am assuming this will work with various other drives. Just be sure it’s 2.5″ SATA for Laptops. I had originally placed a 320 Gb Western Digital drive that I purchased from Best Buy.
This procedure also works on the early 2008 Macbook Pro 15″. (I took the 320 Gb from this laptop and placed it in Kumeelyun’s 15″.

Home Media center 2007/2008
In late 2007 and early 2008 we decided we were going to build a home media center and blog it. We got about 90% through the project when we decided to look at the OSX (Mac) platform and scrubbed the “Windows” based MCE.
I wanted to share with you what we did blog. Some of it is silly… (We were playing with various time-lapse stuff to stay within YouTube’s length limitations)
This first video gives a quick tour of our place in Las Vegas and what we had then:
This next video shows us putting all of the parts we got together: (We did another speed up and added some music to make it interesting – LOL)
This was about as far as we got with this project.
